Set up email on your device
The server settings and the ways to access your email, in the browser or in an app.
You can access your email in two ways: through Webmail, in the browser, or through an email app on your computer or phone. Use whichever is more convenient. Both can work at the same time.
Through Webmail
Webmail is the easiest way to access your email from anywhere. There’s nothing to install: just open your browser. In it you read and write messages, organize folders, create automatic filters and choose from more than 85 languages.
Through an app
Email apps, such as Thunderbird or Outlook, are installed on your computer or phone. They bring extra features, such as labels, scheduled sending and access to downloaded messages without internet.
Server settings
To set up any app, you’ll need these settings:
- Server
- pvlmail1.raszio.com
| Type | Port | Security |
|---|---|---|
| IMAP (incoming) | 993 | SSL/TLS |
| POP (incoming) | 995 | SSL/TLS |
| SMTP (outgoing) | 587 | STARTTLS |
- Username: your full email address, such as jane@yourcompany.com
- Password: your email password
POP or IMAP?
When you set up an app, it will ask how you want to receive email: through POP or through IMAP. If in doubt, choose IMAP.
IMAP: everything in sync
The app always stays in sync with the server. What you do in one place shows up everywhere else: messages read, archived, moved to folders or deleted.
It’s ideal if you access your email in more than one place, such as on your computer and your phone.
POP: a copy on your device
The app downloads a copy of the messages, but doesn’t sync with the server. The messages stay stored on the device, whatever happens to the server. You can even ask for them to be deleted from the server after they’re downloaded.
It’s ideal if you use email on a single computer and want to keep a local copy of everything.
