Set up email in Thunderbird for Android (K-9 Mail)
Step-by-step guide to using your email on an Android phone with Thunderbird, formerly K-9 Mail.
K-9 Mail is now called Thunderbird for Android. It’s the same free app, and it’s the one we recommend for Android phones. The guide works for both names.
Before you start
You’ll need:
- Your email address and your password
- Thunderbird for Android installed on your phone
- The server settings, below
- Server
- pvlmail1.raszio.com
| Type | Port | Security |
|---|---|---|
| IMAP (incoming) | 993 | SSL/TLS |
| POP (incoming) | 995 | SSL/TLS |
| SMTP (outgoing) | 587 | STARTTLS |
- Username: your full email address, such as jane@yourcompany.com
- Password: your email password
If in doubt between IMAP and POP, choose IMAP. See the difference between POP and IMAP.
